I found this book is a very useful reference for programmers since it is source code intensive. In the chart component section, the book clearly described the elements of chart component such as Chart Titles, Legend, Series, Values, Axes, Gridlines, Error Bars, Trendline, and Data labels. The book offers complete code samples in:

I found this book has been extremely useful for dynamic charting on the web site. All chart types and source code samples have been covered thoroughly. The author even showed you the techniques of charting Gantt chart for project management. This is a complete reference for programmers.
